I accompanied my 2 younger kids to school since they haven’t reported since we came from the Feast. The school is the NEXT place to teach kids, not only academic instructions but moral guide as well. The first place must be at home.

The highest point of learning for any child is between 2-7 years old. Those are the formative years. Many parents teach their kids many tricks and the kids learn fast! What some parents miss, though, is teaching their children how to behave, resulting to public tantrums and disrespect to parents.

Having money or having none is not a primary factor although the richness or the lack of it can both be the alternative parents are taking to justify why their kids turned into brats. The rich brats have everything material in place of their busy parents while the poor brats are left on their own while the parents try to earn a living.

It looks like there is one thing that lacks in both situations. The time of parents to train up their children while they are young so when they get old they will not depart from it. Add to that the behavior of the parents themselves…Well-behaved parents tend to teach their kids to be well-behaved as well and ill-mannered parents reflect their image strong enough to be the children’s guiding hand.

What do you think of the boy below?

Don’t say that boys are boys and are naturally disobedient. No! This kid is about 12 years old (6th grade) and he insisted to jump over the fence (within the school grounds!) because he was not taught well enough when he was much younger. That kid, if not corrected now, may get worse, crossing where it says “No Jaywalking” or jumping over other people’s fences which when developed and unchanneled to the right direction, can put him to jail.

My suggestion? Get him into sports. Perhaps gymnastics where he can pour out his energy into and probably be very good in it to make it to the Olympics.

The whole point of the matter, though, is teaching your own kids to behave well at the earliest possible time. While yet 1 year old, they must be trained to know what “No!” means. It is natural for them to get what they want but it takes training to let them know that not everything they want can be had…and it starts early in life…It’s never too late to teach, but it may be more difficult when they’ve grown to be teens. What we train them to be today will either make or break their future. If you don’t start to teach them what is right, now, when?

Since I do not have any air purifier yet, which I think can do my health some good, an immediate solution must take place.

Good thing I still have some puffs left in my inhaler.

What’s giving me the trigger these past few days is the humidity. Upstairs where our bedroom is and where this set of computer is located, it feels oh so super hot especially in the afternoon. A fan is not enough. The computer had several restarts in a day by its own, which we figure could be from the heat also. Breathing has been more difficult especially when I had my dose of pure laughter. (Yes, laughter can also trigger asthma, and if already in a humid environment, the result is not good so sometimes I mentally control my laughter.)

One good thing that I like, though, is coffee. Yes, it helps alleviate my asthma. How? I really do not know, but it does. I’ve asked my overseas friends who are asthmatic too and they also drink coffee to give them relief.

What if, together with the air purifier, I try the EcoQuest coffee? Hmmm…that would be interesting!

It had been some months that my silent killer had been asleep. It had been so long that it took awhile to find where I last placed my inhaler.

I have asthma. It “appeared” when my body changed its routine from being energetically activity-oriented to being sit-all-day-in-front-of-the-computer-or-while-riding-to-and-from-work-for-at-least-two-hours-each-ride. Not only have I developed asthma but also this beach floater around my waistline that seemed more permanent than ever. Sigh…

I have found the remedy to my asthma when I was introduced to our national tree, narra. It is, in fact, very good it can dry up even AIDS, breat cancer, and leprous wounds!

Back in time when I had access to a narra tree, I had no problem with asthma. Actually, the encapsulated form can be bought from a drug store but it is quite expensive for me.

What could be the triggers of asthma?

Different people are triggered differently. For me, climate being to hot (especially humid) or too cold triggers my asthma. A fan cannot suffice. The air blown is warm as well.

The air we breathe is another factor. We have too much pollution that negative ion is depleted. Dust, smoke and odor are also my triggers. Good thing my nose is not as good a smeller as most are. Sometimes I cannot distinguish the smell of rotten food unless I look at it (at least my eyes know food that is rotten). If my nose was a keen smeller, I think the more my asthma would attack. I’m blessed to have a weak sense of smell. Even yet, I still get mild attacks from perfume and talcum powder.

I was thinking of aroma therapy. Will it work for me? Hmmm…cleaning the air around me, perhaps will do me good. Perhaps EcoQuest International air purifiers can help.

The 360-Degree Feedback is popular method for improving productivity and job satisfaction, usually within the organization and corporate world.

Usually over the internet, a set of questionnaire is filled up by the participants of a certain group or organization and the result of the responses gives the person assessed the strengths to capitalize on and weaknesses to improve on to hopefully make a better person out of each of the participants, thus, doing better productivity and being more satisfied.

The strategy is supposed to increase self-knowledge, stimulate individuals to enhance their strenghts while identifying areas where development is needed, encourages continuous learning, supports coaching and mentoring initiatives and provides guidance for positive change.

The reason it is called “360-degree” is because data come from all points of view, from all angles, from top to bottom, sideways and around.

The responses of everyone remains private and confidential. As a taker, you will be supplied with the result of everyone’s response, how they see you, but you will never know who gave the remarks.

In the olden days, this is done with hours of calculating and recalculating. With the availability of the internet, the process has been shortened. At least you can get the result in two weeks.

Dennis C Carey’s blog now questions the accuracy of the system. Is it really an honest evaluation?

Cosmetic surgery refers to the surgery that is meant to improve the cosmetics alone. It falls under plastic surgery just as reconstructive plastic surgery but in no way has any of these two got to do with the synthetic polymer material we call plastic.

Chicago plastic surgery may very well agree with the following procedures that fall under cosmetic surgery. Which in the list would you want to go for?

- abdominoplasty is more known as the “tummy tuck” which is reshaping and firming of the abdomen.

- blepharoplasty is the eyelid surgery which reshapes the eyelids or application of permanent eyeliner. One-time cost and saves on makeup if you’re the type who can’t live without makeup.

- mammoplasty (from mammary glands) covers breast augmentation or boob jobs, breast reduction or breast lift. I think this has been one of the in thing in the 80s-90s.

- butt augmentation is, of course, the enhancement of the buttocks.

- chemical peel is another popular procedure especially for those aging women who like to lessen the wrinkles. It is also the procedure that minimizes the appearance of acne, scars and other skin eye sores.

- labiaplasty is the surgical reduction and reshaping of the labia (what else?).

- rhinoplasty or the more commonly named “nose job.”

- otoplasty is the reshaping of the ear (very recommended if you have Dumbo ears ).

- rhytidectomy is the commonly called “face lift.”

- suction-assisted lipectomy or liposuction or for short, lipo, which removes body fat especially those that cover your toes when you try to stand and look at them (toes) but you cannot!

- chin augmentation. Have you seen half-moon faces? Unlike Bob Hope who makes his chin his trademark, many, especially women, do hate their looks.

- cheek augmentation. Are your cheekbones hiding and would like them to be prominent? There is a solution to that as well.

- collagen, fat and other tissue filler injections.

- laser skin resurfacing.

- male pectoral implants. Want to increase your chest size? Hmm….what for? (teasing)
