A few days ago I experienced a miracle. It happened also a week ago.

We use LPG tank for cooking. Our stove is a single-burner one that’s already old and rusting. Last week when I woke up to cook breakfast at 5am, the burner would not lit. I discovered that the hose attached to the stove was detached…and the LPG tank ON! Normally, gas would have filled the house. If the stove was last used the night before at around 7pm, that’s a long time till 5am!

Again, it happened a few days ago. Same story.

I know God really protected us. He sent angels to watch over us and not allowed the gas to leak as it should have.

I suddenly recalled the movies I’ve watched where, at the flick of the light switch, the house began to burn…

I’m glad and happy that God loves us. Praise be to Him!

After graduating from high school, she had the opportunity to be swimming assistant coach which means she had a job. Not only did she earn daily but she enjoyed her job.

Leaving early at around 6am and coming home almost around 9pm, she gets dead tired to do any household chore. There’s a policy, though, in this household. If you’re working, you’re excused to household chores but you share even just a little for the house rent, water and electricity you use. Chores that used to be hers got turned over to the 2nd kid, likewise the 2nd kid’s chores, to the 3rd.

Now that my eldest was in a long vacation due to fewer students, the two younger siblings were ecstatic because their eldest sister gets to work at home again. I also get to taste her cooking while I do my online stuff.

She’s supposed to be starting working again but the pool is undergoing repair. A couple of months ago, it was the pool filters, if I’m not mistaken, but now it’s total overhaul. While still on vacation, she gets to learn part of what we do…backdrop making, which we’re going to use for the Spokesman-Graduate Club Ladies’ Night and the Feast of Tabernacles, both in September. We’ve been doing backdrops for the Feasts since 2004 and no successor yet. It looks like this will be a good training for her. She loves it!

by Cecile Cinco

For almost five days I was without my own internet at home. Before that, though, I was without a working PC. Hubby figured that the motherboard needed replacement. I was able to buy the replacement on the 2nd day. When he had it mounted, he found out we did not have internet connection. Having an extra LAN card, he tried it, but to no avail.

I started calling up SmartBro (our ISP) technical support. Since it’s a call center, the person I’m talking to (and all those who I talked to after) followed their script. I was told to wait within 24 hours. I started calling in the evening of the 2nd day. In the morning of the 3rd day, I called again, following up. Of course it was another call center agent. Within that day I called them about 5 times. All of them told me to wait within 24 hours. Of course, all of them wrote their reports.

On the 4th day, after calling for about 3 times, finally the last one asked for a schedule for some technical team to come to my place to check the computer. The schedule was the next day. I told the call center agent to make sure to bring a laptop because my system is Ubuntu and it’s normal for them to have Windows.

On the 5th day, as scheduled, they arrived in the morning. They found out that the antenna is no longer getting signal from the SmartBro base. After fixing it up and connection got online with the laptop, it was transferred to the pc and I signed the paper that internet is already online (as evidenced by the laptop. When I booted, though, it wasn’t working! I mounted the extra LAN card and good enough, it worked!

After having no internet for 5 days at home, spending an hour or two at an internet cafe, I seem to have been deprived. For two nights I found myself getting past my bedtime (8:30pm) reaching up until 1am! I guess I’m catching up but lacking sleep does no good. Now I feel I needed some eye cream!

By the way, I asked the technician why it took them soooo long to respond. He said that I’m lucky because it usually takes others even a month! Tracking back, I figure its my frequent calling that made them act faster.

Conclusion: if you’re calling a call center for technical support, call them as often as you can until the reports queue up that they take action, sooner than later.

We all have priorities and preferences. We also have tasks that we do not prefer but should do. We have dreams we want to accomplish. We also desire more of some things that come our way scarcely. How we see things, our perspective in life, reflects on what we do, not on what we wish we could do.

Tom Cruise is dyslexic that surely gives him a hard time reading right. Memorizing the script makes him do his best in acting. He’s a good actor but without the script, he’s nothing. He loves acting so he does his best.

Oftentimes, students take courses they don’t like. Either their parents told them so with authority or someone else is paying for their tuition. Even if it’s against the student’s will, it is still a blessing to be able to be educated! The cost of education is expensive and having someone else pay for your education is something to be grateful for.

What do you do if you don’t like it? Make ways for your to cope. If you don’t like business yet you are forced to go to business school, then go for gmat prep courses so you will be armed/equipped better. What you do with your life spells out your failure or success. Everthing is just roadblocks. You either go around or remove them. In short, overcome them…and do your best so you come out successful.

For several weeks now, I feel pain at my lower back, close to the hips, worst when I get up in the morning. I used to feel that pain during pregnancy…and I’m NOT pregnant at all. My monthly period adds to the pain, though. My last pregnancy was in 1999!

I remember, though, in 2000, when we were in Talisay, Batangas, caring for fish pens. We stayed in a house with marble flooring. We only had mat to lay our backs on. Every morning, when I get up, it takes some minutes to struggle with my back ache. I thought it might be due to marble flooring. Someone suggested to buy mattress!

A week later, though, a group of iridologists and crew came by our street to give free checkup. It was lined up after! When my turn came, 3 weaknesses were found: one of my main arteries is slightly blocked, I have asthma, and my kidneys are starting to get infected. The first two may be connected to each other, which I knew already even years ago. The 3rd, though, is what concerned me since it was what may have been causing my backache.

He gave me something to buy and take but since it was expensive and made out of something the Bible describes as unclean, I declined. I asked for other alternatives. He said I can still try water therapy since it is just at the beginning stage. That, I did.

I was told to drink 12 to 15 glasses of water throughout the whole day. Not wanting to forget I posted a tally sheet on the wall. I drank 15-20 glasses of water instead. It was difficult. Every 15 minutes I would go to the bathroom to pee…but oh, it was a relief after 2 weeks, the pain was gone!

Maybe I have to do that again…What’s stopping me? Just the frequency going to the bathroom.
