What Computer Games Do You Play?

by Cecile Cinco

Since the creation of XTs up to 286s–those personal computers which run on 5.25″ diskettes (yes, even the OS)–games have always been a part of the computer user’s boredom arsenal. Using DOS operation system (I know it’s redundant–but if you were asked what OS you used before, answering ‘D’ will just confuse everyone), commands are typed. My favoritetes were DigDug/Digger and Hangman.

When the 386s evolved, so did Windows 3.11. Games such as Prince of Persia and a spy game with a character named Tex ate my break time. When I was without a computer, I go back to my cryptograms and crossword puzzles. A few years later Text Twist became one of my favorites too. Now, with the internet, all sorts of games are available but little time to spend playing. Others, though, have the capacity to indulge on, say, ps3 games. I’ve never really delved into it but I think it’s fun when you’re alone.

I agree. I love Text Twist and would normally get the longest word first before I go for the rest.
