We Are All Smokers…Generally

by Cecile Cinco

Yesterday, during our monthly Women’s Club meeting, my mom echoed what she learned during the nutrition seminar she attended last Dec. 6. Part of what she said was that we are all smokers, one way or another. We may not be smoking ourselves but we are generally second-hand smokers…which is worser than being a first hand smoker.

Having asthma, smoke is really not my friend, although it was because of smoke that I learned how to control my breathing. That way, I don’t easily suffer from attacks, compared to my attacks when I did not know how to breathe right.

Pollution is around us. We can’t just stop other people. Instead, we have to do our best to prevent the smoke to reach us. You can live in the bundocks where lots of greeneries are around or you can stay in the city with air filters intalled where you live and work.
