More and more group projects are developed with people distant from each other. Sometimes within a city but many times countries apart. Since more and more work-at-home programs exist and actually encouraged, people are veering to that direction that is made possible by the connection we have through the internet.
The more skills you have, it is more likely that you have more jobs in your hands. Not necessarily paid for it, that’s beside the point, especially if you are working as a volunteer. Yet, there is a job or there are jobs to be done and the fact you agreed to do it doesn’t mean forgetting about it is an excuse. Having agreed to do something means people are depending on the result.
We have the gadgets, the computer, the internet, the project, the tasks. All we need now is a central communication system that will keep everyone updated on what’s happening and leaving no one out. Group collaboration even when you are countries apart is possible. All you need is a simple project management software so that you can keep track of what’s going on. You will have no excuse for missing out on any task assigned to you and if you are the one delegating, you can be sure that he or she will be able to get your instruction.
