110th Philippine National Independence

Today, June 12, is our 110th National Independence Day. It celebrates our freedom from the Spanish hold 110 years ago. The question is, are we really free?

Free from what? While we were free from the Spanish reign, Americans held our minds and our souls. Everything that the government did had the influence of the Americans.

Or, is it just by the Americans? How about Rome?

Are we really free? Several regimens passed by and yet through all those, corruption always ruled.

Who is really taking us hostage? Is it the people we see that rule over us or the power that influences those people? ThePrince of Power of the Air is the real hostage taker…getting freed from that clasp takes Somebody bigger than you and I. When responded to with a resounding yes shown by our actions until the end, only then can we be truly free.
