Last Sunday I was at our Church locality Women’s Club. One of the lessons we learned is the daily eye exercises that our oldest but slimmest 64-year old member, Sonia Dignadice, shared with us.
Without further ado, here is the regimen below which need no medical equipment in order to maku use of it.:
1. Blinking - blink your eyes 30-50 counts.
2. Look from right to left and vice versa.
3. Look up and down.
4. Look in circles: left to right then right to left.
5. Look from up-down then down-up in circle, one foot (roughly–12 inches vertically) at a time. Start from the ceiling down to the floor. This can also be a neck exercise since you move the neck.
6. Look on and off with cupped palm covering the eyes like switching on and off the light (like peek-a-boo).
7. Look with cross-eyes. In crossing the eyes, try to imagine looking at an object right between your eyes. Do this in 30 counts increasing as you are able to.
8. Palming. Generate heat by rubbing palms against each other for a second then cover each eye with the heated palms.
9. Sunning. This is optional. Whenever possible, have the sun shine on your eyes, not necessarily looking directly at the sun. The purpose is just to let the sun shine on your eyes to get vitamin D.
This series can be done anytime, any position, anywhere, any age, male or female, since the nerves around the eyes will become more active and blood circulation in the eye area will be greatly improved.
It is best to wash your eyes with soap and water before starting.
