Liebestraume And Cavatina Get My Attention 101%

by Cecile Cinco

I love music. I can listen to different genres. I said music, ok, not noise so to me, metallic rock is way too much. Among the genres, I especially like classical. Musical plays also make me stop and listen. I listen to songs with lyrics but I prefer instrumental. When I listen to Queen it’s more on the musicality and the chorale voicing that amazes me rather than Mercury’s song alone. He is nothing without the whole Queen.

Among all the instrumentals, there are two pieces that get my attention and make me listen most intently. One is Franz Lizst’s Liebestraume which is a piano solo and the other is Cavatina by John Williams (the classical guitarist, not the Boston Pop conductor).

The internet is great, I found them at YouTube!

It is the first time now that I heard the lyrics of Cavatina (redered by Bryn Terfel). That’s John Williams playing the guitar.
