Online Shopping Carts: Test Before You Buy

If you are a serious online entrepreneur with products you sell, be it actual, tangible products or downloadable products, you need a shopping cart software to be able to serve your clients. Buying, on the buyer’s perspective, must be easy. Computation must not be a hassle. Paying for items bought, most especially, must be secure, on the software and hardware side (technical) and secure on the hearts and minds of your buyers.

Put yourself in the buyer’s shoes. What features and benefits would you want when buying online? If you haven’t bought online yet, what is stopping you? Points to consider are the following:

  • price (how cheap or expensive)
  • how can I buy (credit card, check, cash)
  • online security (credit card info)

Other issues are secondary like is the product really good? More often than not, you’ll rely on others who tried the product already.

Now put yourself on the seller’s shoes. How can you please your clients and reap the benefits? Price will be dependent on the seller, of course but the avenue to be able to sell securely is something that you have to scout for. I say test first before you buy a shopping cart because on that will your business be relied upon.
