It’s Sunday. The kids are having a weekend vacation at my Mom’s two tows away. They’ll be home tonight when I fetch them later this afternoon.
Meanwhile, while I’m blogging and listening to some classical music, my better half guitarman is downstairs building a cabinet. Well, sort of a cabinet…rather, its purpose is for storing our clothes. It’s barebones. He’ll be making the frame then use the used tarpaulin that we have stored from this year’s Feast Of Tabernacles in Baguio City. I’m a recycler and we’re financially challenged, so we try to make the best of what’s available.

That’s him trimming the ends…

…and filing them so it would be smooth.

Two side frames done. Two to go.
And below…a finished frame. Will only have to add the tarp on each level.

Hi! Seems that the workmanship of the frames and the tarps looks good and gives a promise of durability (due to the supports in each corner of every levels. The make comes so handy as it seems light weight too. However, i noticed that mr. carpenter missed to place a support at the center to keep the tarp in place and wont be saggy when its loaded with clothes. Hope you got my point now. Anyway, its just a suggestion. Thanks!

Hi StreetSmart…actually we’ve taken that into consideration. The tarp is quite thick and the load is not that heavy. Besides, this is temporary. When we can afford to buy plywood, it is intended to fit perfectly on top of each level which will provide more support for the frame. It is also intended to smoothen the wood and paint them. I was actually just telling my husband a couple hours ago that this is the best ‘cabinet’ I wanted because of its lightweight feature. I’m requesting him for another one just like this one so all our clothes will fit.
