I rarely go to hospitals. I rarely even get checkups. The times I did, those times were very necessary or I was forced into it.
I remember when I was very young my mom brought me to have my mucus suctioned. A tube went into my nostril and passed through my throat to get the phlegm out. To me that was horrifying. It never happened again.
The next time I had a checkup for asthma back in the early 90s. I was x-rayed. I was told I had wheezing breathing and concluded that I had an early stage of asthma. I was told to go back but I never did. Up until now I have asthma but since I know what triggers it and I know how to pacify it, except when I almost died, I kept away from doctors. Back when I was little, I told myself that one day I’d buy a trailer and live in it while I travel where ever I want to go. I guess it was an influence by American TV shows we had at home.
Up until now, I still like the idea and still dwell on the idea that I would someday be able to buy a trailer. I guess it comes with the spontaneity that I have–being able to travel from one place to another and face the day with excitement of the unknown. Continue reading →
